Aadhaar has now become a mandatory thing for availing many services in India. According to the recent move taken by the Government of India, every citizen should link their Aadhaar number with PAN card, Bank accounts, mobile numbers and others.
Earlier, the process of linking mobile number with Aadhaar was full of harassment. As no one wants to go to the store and wait in the queue just for linking his/her mobile number with Aadhaar. But now, UIDAI has made the entire process quite simple. You just have to call on UIDAI’s toll-free number and follow the instructions and your mobile number will be linked to you Aadhaar easily.
As per recent announced by the Government, every citizen of India must link their mobile number with Aadhaar before 6th February 2018. The new method is only applicable for Airtel, Vodafone and Idea customers currently.
How to link mobile number with Aadhaar using IVR and OTP?
Step 1: Dial 14546 from your mobile number and wait till it connects.
Step 2: Then, follow the instructions carefully. Here, If you are an Indian, press 1 otherwise 2 for a foreign citizen.
Step 3: Now enter your 12 digits Aadhaar number.
Step 4: IVR will repeat the entered number. If it is correct, press 1 to confirm, else you can re-enter your Aadhaar number by pressing 2.
Step 5: Now, a 6-digit OTP will be sent on your smartphone. Here, you will also hear a voice message asking for your permission to share your Aadhaar details with the telecom operator.
Step 6: Enter the OTP number that you received through the text message.
Now, the process will be verified within 48 hours and the mobile number will be linked with your Aadhaar. I really liked this hassle-free process and linked my 3 mobile numbers. The process should be also be started for other operators soon.
