This goes without saying, for quite a while now, WhatsApp has been striving to add new features to their platform. To our surprise, we keep hearing possible features every once in a while prior to the launch queue.
This time around, it is reported that WhatsApp is working on new drawing tools to be implemented on their Android client for images and videos. Based on the report published in WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp Android beta comes with two new drawing pencils for their image editor.
These new tools would supposedly allow users to draw thicker lines with broader tips. As of now, there are only limited options for WhatsApp drawing. As of now, users could only change the color of the pencil. But, the new update can possibly change the thickness as well.
Bear in mind, this is not the only tool WhatsApp is working on. Based on the report, there is supposedly another tool for blurring images to be added within the image editor. This is certainly a safety feature we can appreciate while sharing confidential information.
While still in testing mode, if this turns out to be a success, this is something we can expect coming in a few months. Bear in mind, Meta-owned messaging application, WhatsApp is still lagging behind in some of the compelling functionalities that you use in Telegram.
New Chat Bubble Colors to Arrive on WhatsApp Desktop
Next on our list of features is for WhatsApp on Windows and Mac clients. Yet another report from WABetaInfo suggests that WhatsApp has started to roll out their new update (v2.2201.2.0), using the same build number used for the WhatsApp UWP beta version on their desktop clients.
This update is going to bring new colors for chat bubbles while you are using the application in dark mode. Just look at the color difference right below:
Comparing both the above images, you can clearly figure out that the new chat bubble is using a darker shade of green. This change directly correlates to WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS published earlier.

The Bottom Line
All these new changes directly showcase that WhatsApp is not the kingpin of messaging anymore, and they need to constantly keep up with their competition. That being said, thanks to this rivalry, we can expect several new features coming on both WhatsApp Android and Desktop clients soon.
So, let us know in the comment section below, which new feature you are most excited about trying?
