On Tuesday, the Fall 2023 Apple Event took place with some of the big tech announcements. For starters, Apple unveiled USB type C charging for the iPhone 15, along with the latest generation of Apple watches. Since Apple announced the majority of its techs at WWDC earlier this summer, the fall event felt more on the lighter side. So, here’s a detailed overview of all the new things we have learned so far. 

The Latest iPhone 15 is Arriving this Month

For starters, the iPhone 15 is going to be available for purchase from 22nd September in the US. The devices are going to hit the international market starting 29th September. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are going to be available from 799 USD and 899 USD. Both the models are going to come with the same color as their previous iterations with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage. 

The iPhone 15 Pro is going to start at 999 USD for 128GB, followed by 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants. The more premium iPhone 15 Pro Max is going to have a price tag of 1199 USD for 256GB along with 512GB and 1TB. The US customers are also getting the option to upgrade with additional credit of 200 to 650 USD while trading iPhone 11 or later. 

Some of the fee more offerings that were launched alongside the iPhone 15 include: 

  • Apple is going to release iOS 17 on the 18th of September including new features such as StandBy, a check-in feature via the Messages app, a more focused AirDrop feature called NameDrop, and more. 
  • Improved camera feature with the ability to change focus points after portrait photos are taken.
  • Discontinuation of leathers in favor of recycled components that can mimic the soft suede feel.
  • A 6TB and 12TB iCloud+ option for 29.99 and 59.99 USD.

Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2 and More

The Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 are going to arrive on 22nd September, being completely carbon neutral. The latest generation of Apple watches are already using clean energy in their manufacturing process while moving towards sustainability. 

As far as new features are concerned, Apple is introducing a double-tap gesture. This would allow users to seamlessly tap on their index finger and thumb to perform some of the most common Apple Watch actions including taking up calls, playing music, and more. 

Supposedly, you can also use the double-tap feature to take photos on your iPhone. Furthermore, the new Apple Watches will come with a brighter display, expanded Siri functionalities, and precision findings to locate iPhones. Some of the features are going to arrive with the watchOS 10 software update. 

The Apple Watch Series 9 will start at 399 USD, while the SE comes at 249 USD. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 on the other hand is priced at 799 USD. The Watch Ultra 2 is also going to be more focused on extreme activities such as water sports including freediving and wakeboarding and more.
