Can you see who views your Instagram? Even after the years of operation, Instagram still can’t satisfy people who ask this question.
Being a public Instagram account holder, I always wanted to see who viewed my Instagram profile. I read many articles, watched several videos, asked on various forums and overall tried every possible way to know how to get it done. I am talking about the year 2014 when I joined Instagram.
If you are also an active user of Instagram with a public profile, this thought must have crossed your minds many times. I don’t see any harm if I want to know who viewed my profile, check out my posts and left without following me. But the problem is people are now setting a new level by adopting unsafe ways that just aims to steal data and waste their precious time.
First of all, it would be completely wrong to assume all Instagrammers visit other profiles to like their pictures/videos or to follow their account. Most of the users just prefer to check the profile without letting know the owner.
Talking about myself, I also prefer not to follow many business accounts. This is just because they post several times a day and I am not interested in seeing their posts every time I open the app. I visit them once a day or once in a few days to check their recent posts.
So, Coming back to the question – how will one track profile visitors who don’t care to follow?
How to See Who Viewed My Instagram Profile?
Curiosity is something of which you might can’t get rid off, but that’s not going to work in this case. Instagram doesn’t let you know who viewed your Instagram profile. The app doesn’t have any option to keep a track of your profile visitors. I understand it’s a kind of a disappointment, but believe me, there’s no way.
The days of Orkut are gone and, now whether it’s Facebook or Instagram, they are tight-lipped about this particular question for privacy issues. They may have all the data, but they aren’t with anyone.
If you have a business account, you can see the information like the number of visitors visited your profile in the last 7 days or how many users saw your posts in their feed. But when you ask for their names, the answer will be again no.
Third-Party Apps to Check Who Viewed My Instagram Profile
If you do a simple Google search, you will find hundreds of apps and online tools that claim to offer this functionality. Even the Play Store will show many apps with similar name and features.
But do these apps actually work? Nope!
First, let’s talk about their fakeness and your time wastage. Most of these apps just show you random names. If you have tried any of these apps before, you already know that the names are not at all related to you. Some are even more clever and ask you to pay money if you want to see more than three or five names.
So, why these apps can’t track the profile visitors?
The answer is simple. The Instagram API does not share this information with third-party apps. All they can do is display the names of users who recently followed or unfollowed you.
They just waste your time in return for nothing. These apps also make money by intrusive ads which ruin the user experience on the other hand.
As far as security and privacy are concerned, you don’t know how these apps process your data. No one can guarantee their security. There are various cases where users got tricked to give their credentials. If you have already given access to such apps in the past, make sure to revoke them right now. It doesn’t matter whether you are still using that app or already uninstalled it. To do this, you can go to the Authorized Applications page on your browsers and revoke the access.
