Recently, Windows 11 introduced a new Settings app, to provide a better user experience, allowing users to arrange control panel tools as per their preferences. We can easily access these various settings on our PC in one single window through God Mode.

Some of the tools accessible through the God Mode feature include backup and restore, date and time, credential manager, color management, and many more.

God Mode in Windows (previously seen in other Windows OS) is simply a folder that serves as a shortcut for most of the PC’s essential settings. Plus, you can easily activate God Mode on PC with a few prompts.

What is God Mode in Windows OS? 

God Mode as the name suggests, comprises unique sets of tools that can easily convert a regular person into a power user. God Mode is a blessing for any Windows user, facilitating administrative privileges, Control Panel tools, and settings in one unique scrollable single-window interface. 

Benefits of Using God Mode on Windows

The God Mode folder can be arranged as per your liking. You can include all the necessary tools you use for everyday tasks and compile them in a single God Mode folder. For example, if you want to change the date and time then instead of going to the control panel you can simply access the God Mode folder. You also have the option to change the settings and activate multiple clocks of different zones accordingly.

Windows God Mode simplifies access to control panel settings and incorporates everything in one convenient folder. God Mode is a handy way to access hidden options in the settings including display, sharing settings, and many more.

Limitations of Window God Mode

As Windows God Mode is a GUID-based folder, so there are high chance that it can get affected by PC worms such as viruses and malware. Oftentimes, these worms disguise themselves as system applications.

Performing major critical administrative tasks is also possible with God Mode. You can create a Windows backup, change or enable the Windows 10 administrator and make major changes to the Windows OS. So, you need to be careful at times when using God Mode.

How to Enable God Mode in Windows 11: Activate God Mode

Follow these steps to enable God Mode in Windows 11

Step 1: Firstly, right-click anywhere in the empty space on the desktop and hover the mouse pointer down to New in the context menu. Now, from the side menu options select Folder.

Step 2: Once you’ve selected the new folder on your PC, you can either press the shortcut key (F2key) or right-click the folder and choose the option Rename.

Rename the folder as follows:

Step 3: Now, that you’ve changed the name of the folder press Enter. The name would disappear and the folder’s icon will either change to a Control Panel icon or reverts to the default folder icon. Double-click on the folder to enter God Mode.

Otherwise, right-click the icon and select Open. It allows you to pin God Mode to the “Quick access” menu under File Explorer.

How to Use God Mode in Windows 11

Step 1: Once the God Mode folder opens, you’ll see a list of more than 200 Windows tools and settings, AutoPlay, user accounts, disk optimization, and many more.

Step 2: You have to double-click an entry to access your preferred tool or right-click and choose Open. You’ll get a warning on your screen “Windows can’t create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?” Click on Yes, that would add a shortcut on your desktop.

Step 3: If you’re having a hard time navigating, you can view all the options in alphabetical order. Right-click an empty space in the folder and click on Name under Group By section.  

Step 4: To view God Mode’s settings, right-click on the empty space and select “Medium icons” or “Large icons” under the View section.

In case, you want to disable God Mode, right-click the folder on your desktop and click on Delete.  You can view several God Mode options through Control Panel in Windows 11.
